If you want to walk to Bar Harbor from the Highbrook, it is only 1 mile to the center of town. There is easy access to the Acadia National Park carriage roads from behind the Highbrook along a quiet paved road. The Park Loop Road which visitors can tour through Acadia by car or bicycle is also accessible from behind the Highbrook. For travelers taking Bay Ferry's high-speed ferry the "Cat" to Nova Scotia, the Highbrook Motel is located just 1/4 mile away. The Edgewater Motel & Cottages are located just minutes from downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The peaceful ocean front setting is secluded enough to give you all the rest and relaxation you could ask for, while the activities of Bar Harbor, Maine and Acadia National Park are just minutes from your doorstep. The Visitor Center and the main entrance to Acadia National Park, is only a little over two miles from The Edgewater. The center of Bar Harbor is just five miles from the Edgewater, so going into the downtown area is very quick and easy.
